A Conservation Concern

The Custodians have formally raised concerns with the French Government over its proposed prohibition on the importation of certain species of legally obtained hunting trophies. Our letter highlights the importance of science-based conservation, the economic value of wildlife, and the role that responsible hunting can play in supporting habitats, rural communities and wildlife conservation. We believe conservation decisions should be based on evidence, meaningful engagement with African range states, and measurable conservation outcomes—not symbolism.
