Stakeholders are advised to take note of the updated Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) Movement Control Measures issued by the respective Provincial Veterinary Authorities.

These protocols outline mandatory requirements for the movement of cloven-hoofed livestock and game, including approval procedures, risk assessments, veterinary declarations, and required documentation in terms of the Animal Diseases Act (Act 35 of 1984).

Compliance is essential to prevent the spread of FMD and to protect South Africa’s livestock and wildlife industries..
